With funding from Oculus and in partnership with prototyping company, PreviewLabs,  we developed Invite Only VR, a virtual reality videogame intervention focused on JUUL/e-cigarette prevention in adolescents. Invite Only VR is currently being evaluated in a non-randomized cluster trial (NCT).

No Time Wasted Game Logo

We all thrilled to announce that the play4REAL XR Lab is the recipient of an Epic MegaGrant to create No Time Wasted, an alcohol harm reduction game for the Magic Leap created with Unreal Engine.

InvestiDate is a multi-player videogame designed to increase a player’s sense of empowerment regarding possible sexual encounters and partners. The goals of InvestiDate are to increase risk perception of HIV/STI, increase self-efficacy to insist on condom use and partner testing, to destigmatize/normalize use of PrEP, and to empower teen girls to refuse high-risk sexual situations and partners.

The play4REAL XR Lab is currently developing a media literacy game that will demonstrate the marketing strategies used by advertising campaigns. The project, code named “Ad-Ttacker,” is being developed in collaboration with students from the Game Design and Development course at Quinnipiac University.

Developed in collaboration with the play2PREVENT Lab at the Yale School of Medicine and with funding from the Women’s Health Research at Yale Pilot Project Program, One Night Stan is a role-playing social card game designed to get people thinking (and talking) about sexual situations and potential sex partners.
